What Does "Pending" status mean?
I was recently asked to respond to this Buyer question on a national home buyer advice board. I hope you find this info helpful, too!
"In Apex, Cary, Holly Springs and Raleigh NC, where The Francis Home Team assists home buyers and sellers there are 5 status available for homes:
- Active (actively for sale and available for buyer showings)
- Pending (the Seller has entered into a legally-binding contract to sell the home and no more buyer showings are allowed)
- Contigent (the Seller has entered into a contract to sell the home but there are one or more contigencies affecting the sale. This is most typically used when the Buyer has another house to sell before they can buy)
- Expired (the Listing Agent failed to get an acceptable offer during the listing agreement)
- Withdrawn (the Seller decided to stop trying to sell their house and withdrew the listing).
